Inservice: “Addressing the Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking of Children in Care”
Andrea Sparks, the Executive Director for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at the Texas Regional Office will be here this Thursday, October 22nd to make a presentation. Please join us at this in-service as she addresses the following:
In 2014, one in every six endangered runaways reported to NCMEC was likely a victim of child sex trafficking, and 68 percent of those likely victims were in the care of the state when they went missing. Learn why children involved with the child welfare system are especially vulnerable to exploitation, and what you can do to prevent victimization.
